Why does my guinea pig squeak when I pet him?
Whistling: Guinea pigs will often let out a high pitched squeal or whistle, and this noise means your furry friend is excited, perhaps about feeding time or playtime. A deep, relaxed one means your guinea pig is content, while a higher pitched one is more likely a sound of annoyance.
How often should you let your guinea pig out of its cage?
Guinea pigs need time outside of the cage each day for at least an hour, though twice a day is best. If possible, take them out at dawn and dusk, when cavies are most active.
How much coroplast do I need for a 2×4 cage?
Coroplast generally comes in 4ft x 8ft sheets. Some places will cut it for you, but you usually have to do it yourself. For a 2×4 with 6in sides, you would need 40in x 68in. For the 2×2 loft and 6in sides you would need 40in x 40in.
Do guinea pigs like multi level cages?
While some small animals enjoy climbing on multi–level platforms in the cage, guinea pigs generally prefer flat, open spaces. Guinea pigs tend to be scared of heights, and even a gentle ramp leading up to a second level may be too frightening for a guinea pig to attempt.
Is a 2×3 C & C cage big enough for 2 guinea pigs?
ONE guinea pig needs at least a 2×3 grid-sized cage. TWO guinea pigs who get along well can also live in this 2×3 grid-sized cage. Although we do recommend a larger cage, this will suffice. The 2 guinea pigs should be a BONDED PAIR.

Can you use chicken wire for a guinea pig cage?
My experience with it was that adult guinea pigs can‘t stick their nose far enough into the holes to chew on the wires, so as long as you‘re very careful with the edges (that stuff tends to be sharp where it’s cut) it’s safe for the pigs.
Can I put a blanket in my guinea pig cage?
Blankets can make an excellent addition to your guinea pig enclosure. Your guinea pig can trap themselves in the blanket. They may also suffocate in case they burrow too profoundly. Make sure you don’t provide your guinea pig blanket, which is too big for them.
