How do you find the portal to the Nether?
Look at your portal’s location in the overworld. Remember, in the nether, 1 block equals to 8 blocks in the overworls (distance). Walk to your portal’s location shown on the overworld map. After that, you should see it.
Does Y coordinate matter in Nether?
Specifically 128 blocks in the dimension it’s searching, so if you build a portal in the nether and it’s searching the overworld it’s the equivalent of 16 nether blocks. Generally the Y doesn’t matter, however if 2 already built portals are really close to the center of the search the Y can make a difference.
How do I make Netherite?
You’ll need to go into the Nether and mine to find Ancient Debris. From there, you’ll have to smelt the Ancient Debris into a Furnace to get Netherite Scrap. You’ll need to combine four Netherite Scraps and four Gold Ingots in order to get one Netherite Ingot.

These are things you should do when you are going to the nether so you don’t get lost:
- Write your portal coordinates down so you can find it.
- Bring some materials to make an emergency portal in case you get lost.
- Don’t go too far from the portal.

Can Crying Obsidian make a portal?
It is used to make respawn anchors, a block that has the function of letting players respawn in the Nether. When placed, crying obsidian occasionally produces purple dripping particles, as if it is “crying“. These droplets are purely decorative. Unlike obsidian, crying obsidian cannot be used as a nether portal frame.
